On December 12, 2019, Surgivisio was presented with the Grenoble Health Trophy awarded during the Economy Night organized by Présences magazine, at the Summum, Grenoble, France.
While on stage, Stéphane Lavallée, President and Founder of Surgivisio, thanked his staff. “I am honored to receive the Health Trophy on behalf of Surgivisio, but above all, I am very proud to work with such a great team, the best of all”, he said.
Stéphane Lavallée also pointed out that the Grenoble area is home to the largest number of startups, innovative companies, research centers and hospitals involved in the sector of robotics-assisted surgery. "Grenoble is the world capital of surgical robotics. Our first system was installed at the Grenoble University Hospital," he said, before thanking his partners, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region in particular.
The Grenoble company was founded in 2009 on one premise: to offer surgeons an assistance solution combining 2D imaging, 3D reconstruction and real-time navigation on a single platform. Ten years on, seven Surgivisio systems have been installed in France, Germany and soon in Italy; and more than 500 surgeries have been performed with the help of the platform since 2017. The company's growth accelerated in 2018, thanks to the support of Bpifrance and a fundraising campaign of nearly €11 million. In 2019, Surgivisio saw its workforce double (60 employees to date, including a 25-engineer strong R&D team). Located in new premises in Gières, it now has a 1,100 m2 factory and is preparing to open a subsidiary in the USA in 2020.
